Test Shots

Image
I struggled with test shots because I couldn't seem to get it bright enough. In this set up I had a laptop with a white screen, a lamp, and a phone flashlight. I also used my mirror for a soft key light. I initially thought that facial oil (img 1) would be relatively simple to do but it didn't stand out to me and looked incredibly simple. I decided to pick something that might be a bit more inspiring, these gold hoops. I love img 2 as I think the colouring is nice and clean and shows off the sparkles. I also like the shadows that the hoops create.

3 Product Choices

Image
My first product choice would be facial oil. Facial oil is a skincare product and typical has a glass bottle, coloured liquid and a dropper. I think it would be interesting to see what I could do with it since there's textures I could include or I could use the dropper with the bottle or by itself. It gives me a lot of options.  My next product choice is jewellery. I would find something shiny and reflective, maybe even have a set up of some earrings and a ring or a necklace. It would be interesting to see how different light would reflect differently on crystals, especially AB crystals which change in different light. My last choice would be makeup. There could be several options with this as most makeup has different textures and would be interesting to work with something like the above pictures. Or I could photograph a palette which is generally metallic and has a mirror. This would then have to be edited for my end result.
